What on Earth are performance engineered mixtures?
This session will review the background to this program, the work undertaken to date, and how concrete mixture specifications can be modified to improve the probability that high quality concrete is delivered in every batch.  The discussion will also cover test methods available to assess the six parameters that control concrete performance, and tools to help contractors ensure that their mixtures will meet the specified limits.

Missouri Hyperloop Feasibility Study
Olsson, in partnership with Black & Veatch, completed a high-level feasibility study for a Missouri Hyperloop Route that would connect Kansas City, Columbia, and St. Louis with the next generation of on-demand, high-speed transportation. Olsson was involved in ridership projections, financial analysis including travel time savings and crash reduction savings, and portal/station locations that capitalized on connecting to the existing transportation networks. Locations for the portals / stations were identified with a focus on either freight access (in more industrialized areas), pedestrian focus (including with connections to existing or planned localized mass transit), and portals that would provide for a mixed focus of both pedestrians and freight. We will discuss the work completed for the Missouri Feasibility Study, as well as on-going efforts to certify this next generation of transportation technology, and the potential long-term implications for Kansas.
